Devchandra gets divine vision of Shri Raj
Prannath Leelaamrit - Chapter 15
One morning in 1678 V.S. (1621 A.D.), Devchandra was listening to the Bhaagwat Puran in the Shyam temple when a supremely beautiful, youthful form appeared before him. It was the divine manifestation of Shri Raj, who performed the sport of Raas in eternal Vrindavan.
Shri Raj asked Devchandra, "Do you recognize me?"
Devchandra replied, "My heart tells me that you are the beloved of my soul. That is all I know."
Then, Shri Raj asked, "Do you recognize yourself? Do you know who you are and where you came from?"
Devchandra gave the same answer, "I only know that you are the beloved of my soul."
Shri Raj replied, "Is that all you know? Now, I will tell you everything. Your name is Sundar Bai (Shyama), and you participated in the divine sport of Braj-Raas. Because your desires were not fulfilled in those two past lives, you have come to this world of illusion for the third time. Gather all the Sundarsaath (souls) and bring them with you to Paramdhaam, the supreme abode."
Devchandra asked, "O Lord! Where are those Sundarsaath?"
Shri Raj replied, "I will send them all to you. This Bhaagwat scripture describes your divine play; therefore, its hidden meanings will be revealed only to you. Ordinary beings will not be able to understand its secrets. If you have any more questions, ask now because I will not grant you such a vision again."
Devchandra asked, "O Lord! Where will you go now?"
Shri Raj replied, "I will perform my divine play while residing within your body."
Then Devchandra said, "In that case, I have no further questions."
This conversation between Shri Raj and Devchandra contains the seed verses of the Taartam. Afterward, Shri Raj's form disappeared and merged with Devchandra's body. Having experienced this divine vision of Shri Raj, Devchandra's heart was filled with immense joy.
Following this, Devchandra’s vision began to perceive the eternal Paramdhaam and Braj-Raas. At the same time, all the mysteries of the Bhaagwat Puran were revealed to him. His soul was now illuminated with the full light of knowledge.
