Birth of Devchandra
Prannath Leelaamrit - Chapter 2
Devchandra was born on the fourteenth day of the bright half of the month of Ashwin, in the year 1638 of the Vikram Samvat calendar (1581 A.D.). He was born in the village of Umarkot, in the Marwar province of Gujarat, India. His father was Mattu Mehta, and his mother was Kunwarbai. When Devchandra was born, his family and relatives rejoiced greatly.
The soul of Shyama entered Devchandra's body. People only know about Akshar Brahma, but Shyama is the embodiment of the Supreme God's bliss, surpassing even Akshar Brahma. Her manifestation is cause for celebration for Brahmaa, Vishnu, Shiv, and the entire universe because, through her grace, all beings will attain eternal liberation and transcendental bliss.
According to the Bhavishya Puraan, the Kalki avatar of Buddha will manifest when the earth is ruled by Muslims during the reign of Aurangzeb. The Supreme Being's power will reside within him, and he will protect righteousness.
The sacred Kateb texts also prophesize a 120-year period of divine sport. This refers to the period from 1638 to 1758 V.S. (1581 to 1701 A.D.), when the divine play unfolded through Devchandra, Meheraj, and Chhatrasaal. It is written that during this time, the secret knowledge of the eternal Supreme Abode will be revealed and all creation will bow down at the feet of these two divine forms.
